The past 2 weeks of the classics for kids podcasts were really great. The first is about
Johann Strauss, Jr. himself, and this week is about
the rest of his family. I really like these. This would be great in a class to give background on a composer, and would be useful in getting the correct style of a piece we are playing.
I, too, love Classics for Kids! My students relate well to the different podcasts of composers and their lives. I've found that compiling a slideshow of different pictures of a composer's life to play while the students listen to the podcast works to keep them engaged and add another visual element to this wonderful resource.
ReplyDeleteI love Classics for Kids, as well!! I always find fun ways to relate it to myself and how I view music.
